Safeway grocery warehouse workers in Washington state have approved a new three-year labor contract while workers at Fred Meyer voted unanimously over the weekend to authorize a strike.
The Safeway warehouse workers, represented by Teamsters Local 117, voted overwhelmingly to approve the new contract that offers annual wage increases, retirement security and medical protections for retirees.
