A 24-hour national boycott to protest Trump administration policies got underway on Friday, and while it’s uncertain what impact it will have, a new survey suggests that millions planned to participate.
The boycott, organized by a group known as The People’s Union USA, takes aim at retail companies that have reversed initiatives on diversity, equity, and inclusion since President Donald Trump returned to the White House.
“For generations our families worked, sacrificed, and fought to build a better future, yet here we stand, still waiting,” wrote The People’s Union USA founder John Schwarts on social media a few days prior to the boycott. “We the people will not wait any longer. We stand in solidarity to honor the past and carve a new path for the future.”
