Aldi went on a store opening spree late last week, debuting 16 new locations across eight states in one day, the discounter posted on LinkedIn.
The openings, which happened on Nov. 20, occurred mainly in states along the East Coast where Aldi already has an existing footprint. The discounter opened eight stores in Florida, two in Pennsylvania, and one each in Illinois, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
“ALDI continues to gain momentum as we plan to operate nearly 3,200 stores by 2028,” an Aldi spokesperson said in an emailed statement to Grocery Dive. “This milestone is an exciting marker of our growth, but it won’t be our last!”
