Egg prices are beginning to come down as significant outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) have ceased and supply has increased.

In the Midwest, wholesale prices for large, white, shell eggs delivered to warehouses decreased by 95 cents to $7.47 per dozen, while prices paid to producers also dropped by 95 cents to $7.29 per dozen, according to March 14 data from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).

The California benchmark for large shell eggs declined by 87 cents to $9.48 per dozen.
