Southeast Grocers celebrated long-standing and high-achieving partners for FMI Supermarket Employees Day.
Grocery store associates across the country took notice Wednesday as FMI-The Food Industry Association celebrated its third annual Supermarket Workers Day, an industry campaign to recognize the efforts of the sector’s workforce.
In January 2021, FMI declared February 22 as Supermarket Workers Day, a “national day of appreciation” for grocery retail workers who recognize their contributions as essential workers and their dedication as “frontline heroes” during the COVID-19 pandemic. The campaign is also designed to highlight the importance of supermarkets as ‘pillars of communities’.
