When Kroger Co. of Cincinnati announced it would buy Boise-based Albertsons, it was tight-lipped on many details. It hasn’t said where the company would be headquartered, what would happen to Albertsons execs, or even what the name of the company would be.
But it did say who would lead it: Kroger Co. CEO Rodney McMullen would keep that role in the new company, while his CFO Gary Millerchip would be his number two.
But as the deal to buy Albertsons looks poised to take longer to close than first hoped, Millerchip is leaving.
