UFCW International is committed to delivering meaningful value to our members and their families, including expanding access to education and the opportunities it provides. We are proud to share a new opportunity that reflects that commitment. Through our reduced-cost education programs with EBS and our partnership with Franklin University, we are continuing to expand access to education for UFCW members and their families.
As part of this effort, our new Education and Staff Development Department has been actively working to identify and build new opportunities that support our membership. A recent visit to Franklin University helped advance that work and strengthen our partnership. As a result, Franklin University has made a meaningful commitment to our Union by establishing three full-ride scholarships that cover the full cost of attendance. These scholarships are available exclusively to UFCW members and their families:
The UFCW Unity and Solidarity Scholarship
Supporting students who demonstrate a commitment to solidarity, collective action, and strengthening working families.
The UFCW Next Generation Scholarship
Focused on developing future leaders who are ready to step forward in their workplaces, communities, and our union.
The UFCW Bridge to Opportunity Scholarship
Designed to help members advance—whether returning to school, building new skills, or pursuing new career pathways.
These scholarships represent more than financial assistance – they are a direct investment in our members, their families, and the future of our Union. We encourage members to apply, or to share this opportunity with eligible family members, including children, spouses, and siblings.
The application deadline is May 22, 2026. Winners will be selected and notified by June 1st. The recipient will apply to the college by June 30th. The recipient begins classes on August 18th. Interested applications should submit the application below to be considered for one of the three scholarships, which are all full-ride.
