UFCW Locals 135, 324, 770, 1167, 1428, 1442, and 8GS, representing 3,500 Rite Aid workers across Southern California, have overwhelmingly voted to authorize a strike over unfair labor practices (ULP). This decision empowers the Unions to call for a strike if necessary.

The strike authorization follows months of contract negotiations where Rite Aid has engaged in unlawful conduct. Union members report labor violations, including direct bargaining with employees. These actions violate the collective bargaining agreement and undermine the negotiating process.

The Rite Aid workers join nearly 7,000 CVS workers who recently authorized a ULP strike and began an unfair labor practice strike at seven stores in Southern California. Over 10,000 pharmacy workers at Southern California Rite Aid and CVS locations are preparing to strike if these practices continue.

Southern CA members working at Rite Aid held strike authorization votes from Oct. 15-18, and have joined CVS employees in preparation for a possible strike. UFCW Members stand ready to take further action to secure a contract that guarantees fair compensation and safe working conditions. Together, we will continue to prove … Solidarity Works!
